The project to convert and upgrade the bucket elevator for the cement mill of Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company has confirmed the right decision of the Management of Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company. On the other hand, AUMUND and Vu Minh have also affirmed the preeminent features of the new design and specialized technical service level, building customers’ confidence in other equipment conversion projects.
Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company is the largest affiliate of Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation (Vicem). Kien Luong Cement Factory is among five cement production factories of Ha Tien 1 Cement Joint Stock Company. This is one of the factories with the longest history in the Corporation. The Factory uses good equipment originated from Europe but due to their old designs and long operation periods, it results in many technical problems and high operating costs.
Realizing this fact and at the request of customers, AUMUND and Vu Minh’s sides coordinated in survey, consulted and proposed the project to renovate and upgrade the belt bucket elevator of the Polysious cement mill of Line 2. This project was completed in February 2020 and put into stable production with many advantages. It can be summarized as follows:
The belt bucket elevator was designed by a German brand to convey cement to the top of cement silo. The problem was that the elevator’s operation was not stable, creating a lot of big noises and requiring regular adjustments. There was a phenomenon of collisions between the mechanical parts. Its capacity was only 140 tons per hour and could not increase anymore. The elevator’s belt life was not high, only about 2 to 3 years.
At the current production and business situation, the mills must increase their capacity, so it’s essential and urgent to make the bucket elevators run stably and increase capacity.
With the new design of AUMUND, the elevator’s speed is more optimal, runs more stably and quietly and not swing to the sides. Its capacity has been increased to 180 tons per hour, completely meeting the addition of fly ash (additive) in the production technology to bring high economic efficiency as well as reduce maintenance costs.
Furthermore, power consumption is also reduced under stable operating conditions: approximately 8% to 11% lower than that of the previous elevator under the same capacity conditions. This alone has brought about a considerable amount of annual savings, helping to reduce operating costs and renovate the environment.
