Rolling bearings

Life-long component protection thanks to the right lubricant

While rolling bearings are used in applications as diverse as wheelsets, machine tools or wind turbines, their job is always the smooth transmission of motion. Their service life depends very much on the lubricant selected.
This is why Kluber’s speciality products for rolling bearings are precisely tuned to the individual application to ensure long, reliable operation.

Rolling bearings are among the most important machine elements and are used in all kinds of applications. Loads and movements are transmitted via rolling elements running between raceways. It's a highly effective design as long as the metal surfaces are separated by a gap. Direct contact between them, however, leads to undesirable friction, wear and damage, which may even cause the bearing to jam and become unfit for use.

The selection of the lubricant offering optimum protection depends to a high degree on the loads, speeds and temperatures your rolling bearings have to cope with. In steel production, for example, a lubricant film has to be continuous even under extremely high loads and very low speeds. In the electrical industry, in contrast, the focus is on high-purity greases, while in the automotive industry lubricants have to safeguard the desired bearing life at temperatures as low as minus 40 and as high as 180°C.

Features, Application
Synthetic lubricating grease for universal application in the food-processing and pharmaceutical industries
Klubersynth UH1 14-222 was developed for the special requirements of the food-processing and pharmaceutical.
Klubersynth UH1 14-222 is NSF H1 registered and therefore complies with FDA 21 CFR § 178.3570. The lubricant was developed for incidental contact with products and packaging materials in the food-processing, cosmetics, pharmaceutical or animal feed industries.
High-temperature grease for slow-running bearings
Klubersynth BH 72-422 is a synthetic high-temperature grease containing ester as well as perfluorinated polyether (PFPE) oils, and a PTFE thickener.
This grease shows good oil retention at high temperature and is thermally stable, which enables Klubersynth BH 72-422 to extend your relubrication intervals at operating temperatures above 160°C up to 220°C.
Heavy-duty grease for highly-loaded rolling bearings operating at low speeds
Kluberlub BE 41-1501 is designed to meet the requirements of rolling bearings subject to extreme conditions.
FAG FE 8 tests have confirmed the effectiveness of Kluberlub BE 41-1501 under these conditions and it is approved by various bearing manufacturers, e.g. FAG, to be used for applications in low-speed rolling bearings subject to very high loads and shocks, for example in roller presses and bowl mill crushers.
Lubricant for rolling and plain bearings subject to high loads
Kluberplex BEM 41-141 offers good pressure and wear resistance and does not contain any inorganic solid lubricants like MoS2 or graphite.
Due to its good compatibility with commercial sealing materials, the grease can be used for a wide range of applications.
High-temperature and long-term grease for rolling bearings
Kluberplex BEM 41-132 is based on synthetic hydrocarbon oil, mineral oil and a special lithium soap. Special additives ensure optimum oxidation resistance as well as protection against wear and corrosion.
Synthetic rolling and plain bearing greases
ISOFLEX TOPAS NB 52, NB 152 are rolling and plain bearing greases based on a synthetic hydrocarbon oil and a barium complex soap. The special barium-soap thickener used in the greases offers good load-carrying capacity as well as resistance to water and ambient media unlike other soap-based thickeners. Both products show good protection against corrosion as well as oxidation and ageing stability. The Kluber barium complex soap is ELINCS-registered and approved by GASG (Global Automotive Stakeholders Group).
